The epidemic situation across the country remains severe and complex as multiple places have reported COVID-19 cases recently. With travels and gatherings increasing during the upcoming National Day holiday, the risk of importation and local transmission of the epidemic will increase.
In order to effectively stop any imported viral infection or local rebound, implement the prevention and control measures in a scientific, accurate and strict manner, and ensure a healthy and safe holiday, the Suzhou Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters issued No. 160 [2022] Notice on Epidemic Prevention and Control of Suzhou on Sept. 21.
The notice advises local residents to stay put for the holiday if possible and avoid unnecessary trips to medium-risk and high-risk areas or to cities with local infections. People are encouraged to reduce inter-regional trips as much as possible. In case of essential trips to the aforementioned areas, it’s necessary to keep abreast of the epidemic situation, learn about the COVID-19 risk level and anti-epidemic policies at the destination in advance, take self-protection measures, and report their travel arrangement before leaving.
Also, the notice specifies such requirements as reporting in an active and timely manner, taking nucleic acid tests upon arrival, strengthening management at various venues, stepping up epidemic prevention during events, and taking proper self-protection measures.
